The crew at Craft Beer Cellar Fort Collins loves to whoop it up and that’s what’s happening this weekend to celebrate their second anniversary this weekend, June 23 and 24.

Chris Lazzery and Justin Wright Smiling at Two Year Anniversary

Chris (l) and Justin are ready to celebrate with you!

Chris Lazzery, CBC FoCo’s owner, and Justin Wright, the store’s Brewmaster General, have coordinated a series of collaborative showcase events for Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25 that highlight the strength and diversity of the craft beer community and some of the great relationships they’ve built over the last two years. The weekend also commemorates Justin’s departure from the store after two-plus years of hard work, beer runs to small breweries and Beer Smart educational seminars for the community-at-large. He’s put a lot into the store, so give him a high five

All you’ll need to do is show-up and enjoy!

Fort Collins Is a Beer Town

Fort Collins, Colorado is one of America’s highest-profile beer towns. If you’re from outside the area, you probably know this healthy beer city as the home of New Belgium and Odell, but one trip to Craft Beer Cellar will show you there’s a lot more happening than just these two craft icons.

In fact, Chris and Justin regularly stock a number of small breweries that don’t really distribute outside the Denver area. You should probably stop in and see the selection of murky double IPAs, sour beers and farmstead breweries for yourself.

Chris’s knowledgeable staff of Beer Geeks will help you navigate the shelves to make sure you’re taking home the proper beers for your discerning palate.

Saturday, June 24

2 p.m. Troy Casey, Founder and Brewmaster of Casey Brewing and Blending, is making a featured appearance outside his aging and blending facility. Even in the diverse Colorado beer scene, Troy’s approach to creating expressive, rustic beers is very unique – his facility exists for fermentation, maturation, blending, and packaging. All of Casey’s wort is produced off-site.

You won’t want to miss one of the most high-profile brewer/owner tastings we’ve done! We’re expecting a big crowd and there will be a selection of unique bottles available for purchase.

An imperial pint full of bright golden beer at Tap and Handle

This could be your view at the Tap and Handle this Saturday!

3 p.m. If you can’t catch Troy at the store, don’t worry! He’s heading down the street to Tap and Handle, one of the finest beer bars in Fort Collins to meet, greet, and enjoy full-size beers. The Casey team has a few special kegs hitting the taps, and he’ll be on hand to say hello and talk beer.

Chris and Justin really enjoy the bar crew at Tap and Handle, so they’ll do their best to sneak out of the store for an afternoon beer before returning to close CBC at 10 p.m. We’ve been assured that a few other special non-Casey kegs will be appearing throughout the day to help celebrate CBC FoCo’s big day. With friends like these, right?

4 p.m. Odd13 Brewing Tasting – If you’re a fan of comic book art and super fresh hop bombs, we’ll look for you at 4 p.m. when the good folks from Odd13 Brewing tell you what they’re all about. We’ll be sampling Codename: Superfan and n00b, two very good and always sought-after IPAs. Disclaimer – Codename: Superfan is far and away our best-selling beer. Come find out why!

Sunday, June 25

4 p.m. Join us at Prost Brewing to send Justin off in style! Justin and Chris opened the store together back in 2015 (we know you can do that math, but still), but Justin is moving on to spend more time with his family. He and Chris go back many years as homebrewing buddies, so they’ve seen a lot. The fine folks at Prost have a great space and a bar full of meticulously-to-style German beers, and they’ve been tremendous hosts and friends since they opened their tap room.

the beer garden at Prost Brewing Fort Collins, Colorado

Prost’s Sunday Funday begins at 4 pm!

Chris and company will be closing up CBC a little early to drink many liters of beer at this fine establishment. Everyone is welcome to join our crew of Beer Geeks, significant others, customers, and colleagues for good times, steins, and fond farewells.

Last but not least, the CBCellar is being raided at random times throughout the weekend, giving up some of its super geeked-out bottles. Chris and Justin have been holding back some crazy stuff from Against the Grain, Anchorage, Tilquin, Omnipollo, Off Color, Jester King, Firestone Walker, Deschutes, Ratio and more, and they’re ready to share.

We don’t know when any of this stuff will rise from its basement slumber; it’ll just happen, so make sure you stop by to catch something exotic.
