Sneak Peek: Mystic Brewery’s New Tasting Room

Last week we were invited to check out Mystic Brewery’s new tasting room that’s been built into their existing Chelsea location. The project has been in the works for the better part of a year, while the actual construction process took a few months. The result? A beautiful bar top, made out of reclaimed oak flooring from a former whistle factory in Charlestown. Beams and doors came from area mills, while the fixed windows behind the bar offer a full view into the brewery: square fermenters, bottling line, and barrels aplenty.

The brewery is slated to open its new tasting room on Saturday, February 16th, from 12 to 5 p.m., with plans to be open regularly on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Regular hours are still TBD. And it will be well worth the wait: The four brewery-only taps were To. Die. For (and we may or may not have found Massachusetts’ best IPA, ever. Seriously. Roswell, FTW). The Flor Ventus ’13 was spectacular, as was the Bluejacket saffron saison collab, Vespula Mysticus. Check out the tap list below.

Those who venture forth won’t be addition to a fundamentally solid tap list, growler fills in both 64 and 32 ounces will be available for any of the eight beers on tap. All we have to say is that we’re officially jealous of anyone within a mile of this place.and we have a feeling that Chelsea is going to start getting a lot more craft beer traffic. “Don’t be afraid to come to Chelsea,” says sales rep Nicole Mandala. “We’ll make it worth the trip.”
